Outsourced bookkeeping, MTD and Self Assessment support for UK accountants
For UK accounting practices: Tax Brew, a CA-led team in New Delhi, prepares MTD for Income Tax quarterly updates, Self Assessment returns and the bookkeeping behind them, in your own software (IRIS, TaxCalc or BTCSoftware, with Xero or QuickBooks Online for the records). You review, approve and submit as the client’s agent with HMRC. We never act as agent, and the client stays yours.
Sound familiar?
- MTD for Income Tax started in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords over £50k, and quarterly updates have added four extra deadlines per client.
- From April 2027 the threshold drops to £30k, and to £20k from April 2028, adding many more clients to MTD.
- The run-up to the 31 January Self Assessment deadline is already full, and records arrive late.
- Your bookkeeper vacancy is still open, and fee rises don’t cover the extra hours.
Who you’ll work with
- Keshav Bansal, CA, founder. Ex-Genpact (record-to-report). QuickBooks Online Level 1 & 2 and Intuit Bookkeeping certified.
- A team of 23 in New Delhi: 3 ICAI Chartered Accountants and 20 associates.
- A CA reviews work before it comes back to you.

Questions, answered
How do you handle client data?
We sign a mutual NDA before any data is shared and work inside your own software. A UK GDPR data processing agreement is available on request. See how we handle client data.
How do the 20 free hours work?
The free 20 hours are for accounting firms: UK accounting practices and US CPA firms. After a short call and a mutual NDA, you choose a few real clients. We work up to 20 hours on them at no cost, then show you the hours used and what an ongoing setup would cost. There’s no obligation to continue.
What does it cost?
We give a fixed quote after a short call. For monthly bookkeeping it is a fixed monthly fee based on transaction volume, the number of bank and card accounts, and the services needed; cleanup work is quoted separately before we start. For accounting firms, the first 20 hours are free, so you see the quality before you pay anything.
Which software do you use for MTD and Self Assessment?
Yours: IRIS, TaxCalc or BTCSoftware, with Xero or QuickBooks Online for the records. If you use something else, ask us and we’ll say honestly whether we can work in it.
